Legal Question in Traffic Law in California

CA DMV Hearing

I have an upcoming Hearing with the CA DMV. It was alleged that I was in an accident in or around Fresno, CA and did not report it to the DMV.

In fact, I was not in Fresno on that date, and I was NOT in any accident whatsoever.

On that date and time, I was at work, 60 miles away. I am the only one in control of my vehicle.

I have gathered some evidence to support my claim:

1) I have a signed letter from my supervisor saying that I was at work on that date and time.

2) I have my timecard which shows that I was at work all day long on that day.

3) I have pictures of my car which show no damage.

4) I am willing to sign a sworn statement under penalty of perjury that I was at work, and not involved in any accident whatsoever.

5) No one has filed a claim on my insurance.

I don't know who is accusing me of being in a wreck, but I guess I will find out at the hearing.

My question is this: Should I hire a lawyer to represent me in the hearing? I am innocent, and have done nothing wrong, but I am apprehensive about being in ''the system''.

Is there any other compelling evidence that I could submit that would support my innocence?

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you

Re: CA DMV Hearing

Hiring an attorney would be helpful. If you do not retain an attorney then check the Nolo Press Book "How to Fight Your Traffic Ticket" This book provides a lot of good information about traffic ticket defense.
