left hand turn accident

daughter was turning left at green light.large truck was in opposite turning lane turning left. she could not see anyone beyond truck so she edged out into the left turn and a motorcycle was coming and hit her in the passenger side. he has died from accident and now she must appear at police department to talk. She is a mother of 3 and was going to work when this happened. What can we expect from this?

Thank you for your posting, and I'm sorry to hear about your daughter's accident.

I am assuming that the police are investigating to see if a crime was committed. In general, if your daughter looked, thought it was safe to proceed, and there was no way she could have seen the motorcycle, they may not file charges.

In a worst case scenario, they may charge her with criminal negligence, reckless driving, or some other violation that fits the facts as given.

Because of the serious nature of the potential crime alleged here, not to mention the almost inevitable civil lawsuit that is going to come after her from the victim's family later, I can't recommend highly enough that she meet with an attorney.
