Legal Question in Traffic Law in California
im a minor , and got a speeding ticket i need to show up for court with a parent/guardian but my parents dont know about my speeding ticket. What would happen if i take someone thats not my parent or guardian?
1 Answer from Attorneys
The reaction of the court will depend upon several factors. First the judge; Second how this person is presented to the court, that is if you attempt to present the person as a parent or guardian the result is more likely to be placing you and that person in custody; Third if you present this person as a friend the court will probably send you home to return at another time with a parent. The best approach is generally to notify your parents and take one with you. If that is not possible then you should talk to a school counselor or another such person and ask for help. You could also contact the public defender for juvenile court and ask for help.
