Legal Question in Traffic Law in California
Are speed traps legal? I thought that police are not allowed to sit in the dark with no lights on, and be able to pull people over. Is this true?

No, it's not true. They can do that.
They can also install cameras to catch red light violations, pace you speeding by aircraft and lie during interrogations.
