Legal Question in Traffic Law in California

Speeding ticket jurisdiction question

I got a speeding ticket for going 104mph in a 65 area...VC 122348 (b)....I got pulled over on the Cahuenga exit which is in Burbank/North Hollywood, the ticket was issues by a Glendale police officer and the appointed court is in Glendale...my question is, first can I get out of this based on juridiction? also on the ticket it states Location (include city if outside of Glendale) and the officer just wrote ''134 W/B zoo drive to cahuenga''...there is no mention of the city where I was pulled over anywhere in the ticket....also if I just please guilty, will I be able to take traffic school for this violation?

Re: Speeding ticket jurisdiction question

The factors you mention will probably not result in the court dismissing the ticket. You should go to local law library and review the Nolo Press book How to Fight your Traffic Ticket. It provides an excellent explanation on how to fight your traffic ticket.

If you want to take traffic school, a safe bet, ask for that when you appear in court the first time. You will be given instructions regarding the costs and how to signup for and attend traffic school.
