There are several subsections for vehicle code section 14601. The reason for the suspension matters. If your license was suspended because of the DUI conviction, yes it carries mandatory jail time. All other subsections can, but do not necessarily carry jail time.
If you are eligible to get your license reinstated, that is the best thing you can do between now and your court date. The next best thing is to hire a good local criminal defense attorney to represent you. You could end up with huge fines, probation, and jail time or some other consequences. It's worth getting a lawyer.
