Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in California
I am a beneficiary of a trust the attorney has made it clear that he represents the trustee, the lawyer sent me a letter saying sign this document and the initial payment can be made, however the document is labeled receipt , not sure if I should sign, it seems to me it should be labeled release. I live in Illinois and the lawyer is in CA, so I cannot just set up a meeting, to receive funds at the same time as signing the document. I did receive that advice, however, how can the funds be ready for me to receive at the same time as signing the document, if indeed what the lawyer says is true that the funds cannot be released unless I sign first. Soooo confused.
