Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in California
If I buy a will form online for my father do I have to have it notorized?

No, it needs to be attested. Many will forms that I have seen state that they require notarization, which is not the law, and many of these wills fail when offered for probate. I strongly suggest hiring an estate planning attorney to handle this. This is an area of the law that I advise clients to refrain from doing it themselves.
I agree with Mr. Roach, and would add that technically you would probably be practicing law without a license if you select a form for him and recommend he use it. If your father has a VERY simple estate, you may consider suggesting to him that he obtain the Nolo Press WillMaker Plus product. Other than that I cannot recommend anyone do a will themselves, and no one should EVER do a will for someone else unless they are a licensed attorney.
