Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in California

deceased grandfather

I never knew my grandfather, he spent most of his life in the service and when retired, he decided to live in California. While alive, he had gotten my social security number to put an account in my name. I'm not sure exactly what kind of an account it was, but after he died, i never heard anything about it and my father, whom i don't talk to, received a large check from him. How do i find out about the accounts??

Re: deceased grandfather

you should contact the financial institution directly to determine the status of any accounts which may have been in your name. otherwise you will need to retain a california attorney and or private investigator.
