Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in California

Executor of Grandfather's will

My Grandfather told me I was the Executor of his will. He died in June 19 2006. He had remarried and moved to North Carolina. I feel the will is at the Sacramento Court House. He never gave me a copy. What should I do? Is present widow has never mentioned this will. How do I contact the court to find if this will even exists? Perhaps he transferred the will to North Carolina? Will Sacramento Court have a record of this information as well?

Re: Executor of Grandfather's will

It certainly is possible that your grandfather recorded his will in Sacramento. Start by contacting the Sacramento County Superior Court, Probate Department. This website will get you started: http://www.saccourt.com/index/probate.asp
