Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in California

Iinheritence prior to death

my friend is mentally a little slow due to brain surgerys. He will inherit 50% and his daughters 50% of a substantial will. (1,000,000).( His mothers). She is now in the hospital and it seems to be only a matter of time. His daughters took control of her checkbook and are all monies she receives monthly mailed directly to them. Even tho the will is set he doesn't know if there will be any funds left after his mother passes away. Any advice? thank you

Re: Iinheritence prior to death

Your friend should consult with an attorney.

Who is the executor of the will? Did the granddaughters (his daughters) obtain a power of attorney for finances allowing them to receive their grandmother's money? Is there a trust along with the will? Your friend should discuss these and other issues with an attorney qualified in this area.
