My mother's living trust was changed by my step father after she was committed to an Alzheimer's Care facility. Does this make the trust invalid?

If he had powere of attorney from her and the trust allowed for changes to be made as he did, then it might be legal. If the changes were mainly to benefit himself, and especially if it appeared she had intentionally not given him those benefits when she first made the trust, there would be a conflict of interest and the changes likely would not be valid as to those parts benifitting him. The original trust would remain in effect.
