Probate compensation

Doe's the lawyer get the compensation for probate based on the total estate at begining or the remaining money after bills are paid out of estate accoung? Thanks

Re: Probate compensation

The statutory attorney fees in the probate code are based on the gross estate, that is the worst of the estate before the bills are paid. However, attorney fees are always negotiable and there's nothing wrong with offering of the attorney less than the statutory fee and see if you will agree to it.
