Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in California

I was a Trustee over a living trust of an inmate. He inherited $23,000. I was sending him money and packages every week to the prison. It was in 2001. He filed a lawsuit against me in 2003. He lost. Now he is out and he filed a lawsuit in Probate court. Arent they statutes of limitation?

It depends on what he is suing you for.

There are statutes of limitations, but as to which statute is applicable, it depends on the basis of the suit against you. Some statutes of limitations can be tolled (or extended) under certain circumstances. Sometimes the statute depends on whether the party suing found out about the alleged wrongful act. You should consult with an attorney to discuss how best to defend yourself against this action.
