Legal Question in Workers Comp in California

Hurt at work in California.

My employer was illegally non-insured and I was hurt at work. At first the were paying for all medical and TTD benefits but since I have filed a civil claim they have stopped paying. I'm left with no monthly income. Can I continue to pursue the civil claim and apply for SDI or file with the WCAB & UEF? How do I get immediate releif without ruining my chances of a civil award?

At this point the best thing you can do is find an attorney to handle both your comp case and civil complaint. Dealing with the UEF is a nightmare. Trying to serve a defendant with no comp insurance is only the start of a bad experience.
