Legal Question in Workers Comp in California

Do I have to provide workers comp. for my son that works for me? What if he is a partner?

You must provide WC insurance coverage for all employee, whatever their relationship to you. The premiums on the WC policy might be much less than a more comprehensive private health plan. Owners are not covered, so if he is a partner you would not need any WC coverage, but you would have to be able to show that he is a partner and not that you are calling him that just to avoid additonal costs.
