family law - adultary

my common-law husband of 7 years and myself separated 5 weeks ago. we are still living in our house, but are hoping to have it listed on the market within the month. he has himself convinced that i am newly involved in a relationship with my best friend, who wants me to go hang out with him for a night just to get me out of the house for a bit. so, my question is, since my ex thinks that there is a relationship going on, would he be able to use adultary against me if i spend the night away with my friend?? my ex and i are working on, but have yet to actually file separation papers.

In British Columbia, adultery is a ground for divorce, but as you are common-law, divorce is not relevant. In British Columbia, what matters in division of assets is the contribution and use of the asset; adultery is not relevant to asset division, nor is is relevant to child or spousal support.
