Legal Question in Disability Law in Colorado

required to sign 8 page fax after dr. visit

I have worked for same corp 3 years, had fake part put in spine 20 months ago, was released to come back to work with restrictions, was promoted 2 times in past 20 months as well. Had 5 injections into spine last week for pain reasons, was told that I need full release to come back to work, asked if my job was at risk, shocked by this news, and told maybe. It would be up to upper management if I could work with restrictions.

I have never missed a day, a meeting or asked for any special treatment of any kind, ever! I must drive alot for work, but can pull over at rest stops to give myself a break, I do my job the best in my region, whats going on now? very very sad about this news, and very shocked!

I'm not sure what you mean by "full release." An employer can require you to provide a release from your doctor saying you're able to return to work. However, requiring you to have no restrictions before you return to work may be a violation of the Americans With Disabilities Act and/or Colorado's antidiscrimination Act.

If by "full release" you mena a release you signed to allow them to see all your medical records, that would also be a violation of laws.

You should consult with an employment attorney familiar with the ADA as soon as possible. I would be happy to speak with you.
