Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Colorado

I contracted with a company for foreclosure work. When the checks stopped coming in I stopped worked and started demanding payment. I got some payment here and there for a few months, and then in Jan 2010 all payments stopped. I was told they are suing Bank of America because they have not paid. I have found court documents that state Nomad was paid $4.5 million between Feb 09 and Apr. 2010.

I am currently owed $25,000. I stopped working for them in Aug 09. I have not received any payment in well over 9 months. I get excuse after excuse. Now they will not speak. They simply say to have my lawyer contact their lawyer if I want info about the court case and payment. Why do I need a lawyer to speak to their lawyer? Why cant the lawyer speak directly to me? What are my actions I can take against these people to get my payment? Id like to actually sue for more than what is owed. I have spent a great deal of time and money tracking these people down and lost a great deal of time and moeny and friends over this.
