Legal Question in DUI Law in Colorado

Colorado, this is my first offense and i have been charged with a DWAI for blowing a .068 and why am I having to pay for Urine Analysis tests when my charge was alcohol related. I understand having to pay for BA tests but why am I having to do UA's which are about 20 dollars a test?

The short answer is because the judge ordered it. The why depends on what phase of the case you are in. If the case is still going, it is a very common condition of bond. If you have already been sentenced, it most likely is because of answers you gave during your presentence screen vis-a-vis marijuana or drug use. If you find a condition of either bond or sentence objectionable, you can file a motion and have a hearing in front of the judge on whether or not the condition is reasonable and necessary.
