What is the cost of typical first time DUI representation?
License was not surrendered. Should I get a temporary before going to court?
Thank you.
1 Answer from Attorneys
There is no such thing as "typical" first time DUI. There are a host of factors that goes into the pricing of an attorney's services. Check to see if your license is already revoked. If not, get a temporary license. Experienced and very able attorneys do charge more than the run of mill attorneys. You get what you pay for. Pricing is the last factor to be considered. Check out if the attorney is laid back or will fight for you to get you the best possible result. Does he or she know the law? Do they have the necessary experience? What additional courses have they done to master DUI laws? Do they have a physical office with staff or are they operating from home or a virtual office? Do they have DUI Reference books in their office? How much have they invested in their practice of law business? Remember Law School and a Bar License does not automatically make the attorney an expert on DUI laws. There are many attorneys just like the pebbles on the beach. Which one you pick can definitely affect your future life. You get what you pay for. All attorneys are not the same. Remember DUI convictions cannot be removed from your criminal record. Would you want an inexperienced doctor treating you when you are sick? I am sure the answer is no. You have to just pay for a good attorney to give you the best possible representation.
