If an ilegal immigrant marries a US citizen, will they be ban for ten years from returning to the US after returning to their country of origin for their interview?

If their extreme hardship waiver is approved, then they can come back after visa approval and don't have to wait 10 years abroad. If a waiver is denied, then, yes.

This applies to illegal immigrant who came to USA without a visa and inspection and stayed for over one year, and then left the country.
