Can you get sued if you get into a car accident and don't have insurance but it was the other persons fault

The answer to your question is "yes", the at-fault driver can sue you. Such would be the case if the "at fault" driver believed you were primarily responsible for causing the collision. That is, if the other driver believed that you were actually the "at fault" driver. The jury would then be called on to listen to the evidence and made a determination of fault. The jury will not be told whether either driver had insurance at the time of the collision.
