Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Colorado

landlord mislead me!!!!!

I relocated to denver a few days ago

and rented a property before moving

out here. The olny thing is that the

house looked very run down

compaired to the pictures on the

web. The pictures showed a nice

house and the ad made the house

sound wonderful but when I got

there it was all beat uo holes in walls

broken cracked microwave hole in

exterior door and so on which

landlord or ad did not disclose. Also

owner told me the pictures were

taken much earlier when there was

no damage. Needless to say I refused

to get into a property in that

condition now owner threatens to

sue me is there anything I can do?

Also landlord verbally told me in front

of two witnesses that he would let

me out of the lease If i was not

happy does this hold up Help!!!!

Re: landlord mislead me!!!!!

Sorry to hear about the problems. You may have a valid basis to claim misrepresentation on the condition of the home. Also, if he made a promise to let you out of the lease with no cost, that may be a binding agreement.

See what happens and get everything in writing. If this can't get resolved, proceed to small claims.
