Legal Question in Traffic Law in Colorado

Jurisdiction of Traffic Police

While heading toward Boulder, CO, I was stopped for speeding by a Boulder City policeman in unincorporated Boulder County about 1/4 mile outside of the Boulder city limits. The alleged speeding and traffic stop both occured outside of the city limits. Is this traffic stop legal?
