Legal Question in Traffic Law in Colorado
Jurisdiction of Traffic Police
While heading toward Boulder, CO, I was stopped for speeding by a Boulder City policeman in unincorporated Boulder County about 1/4 mile outside of the Boulder city limits. The alleged speeding and traffic stop both occured outside of the city limits. Is this traffic stop legal?

Re: Jurisdiction of Traffic Police
Most CO law enforcement officers are deputized or authorized to enforce the law on a state-wide basis. Just because he was outside the Boulder municipal limits does not invalidate the arrest or the citation.
