Picking doctors after work injury

That depends entirely on the law in your state. In Pennsylvania, the employer can give workers a list of six doctors or clinics and the injured worker MUST choose from one of those six for the first 90 days after injury. It used to be only two weeks, but several "reform" acts pushed through the Legislature in the last few years have lengthened that period to give insurance companies more control. However, the employer must have this list posted on a bulletin board or some place before the injury occurred. They cannot do this for the first time after an accident. If your state has a similar law, then it depends on whether the employer has given you such a list or posted it. But I have no idea what would apply there. If there is not a restriction, then the worker can treat with whatever doctor he chooses.

The above does not constitute legal opinion and is offered for the purposes of discussion only. The law differs in every jurisdiction, and you should not rely on any opinion except that of an attorney you have retained, who has a professional duty to advise you after being fully informed of all the pertinent facts and who is familiar with the applicable law.
