Legal Question in Workers Comp in Colorado

Sick time

According to Colorado Workmans Comp and employer can not deduct sick time while they (at their request) are getting the workers workmans comp check. The employer has done just that and I can not get them to respond and I can not seem to get a lawyer to write a letter for me stating such. What I want is my time back and then the pay for such as I have been given so many restrictions that I can not do my job and am going to start getting long term disability. How can I get my companys (they are based in Ohio) attention and action. They are probably not the only company doing this.

Re: Sick time

At this point, you will need to request a hearing before an administrative law judge. However, the judge will not have the authority to require the company to reinstate your sick leave. Rather, you will be awarded the money that the employer received from the carrier. I recommend that you retain an attorney who can handle the hearing for you.
