Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Connecticut

I cosigned a promissary note for my daughter in 2008. She has not paid for the last 3 months. I just had major surgery and cannot pay either. My daughter has not spoken to me in a year. Is there any way I can get out of this promissary note as cosigner
