Legal Question in Immigration Law in Connecticut

I-94 expiring

Hello,

My I-94 is valid till 09 Aug. 2009. I got this White I-94 at the port of entry in No. 08. It is like this as my old passport was expiring on this date. Now I have a new passport with 10 years validity. I have also applied for H1B extension and awaiting approval. Also, my current notice of action I-797 says that my visa is valid till Nov. 09. and the I-94 in I-797 is valid till Nov. 2009. Please advise what should I do with my I-94 that I got at the port of entry? Do I need to get a new one?

Re: I-94 expiring

Dear Inquirer:

You should have sent at least a copy of your original I-94 to USCIS when you applied for your extension of status. Since your H-1B extension was granted, the I-94 at the bottom of form I-797C takes the place of the original I-94.

I recommend that you visit www.hanlonlawgroup.com or email [email protected] if you would like to schedule an appointment for a confidential consultation to discuss this matter further.
