Legal Question in Immigration Law in Connecticut
Legal options.
Hi,
I'm currently on a f-1 visa. I'm attending a community college and am tranfering to a university to complete my bachelors in business finance and economics for fall 2009.
I was told by the tranfer lady that if I wanted to get internships and accept possible job offers after graduation, then I need to sort out my status now. So what I want to know is what my options are. I want to stay in the U.S- work and live here legally. I do not want to go back home or stay illegally.
Which firms or companies sponsor green cards/ work permits? How do I find them? What can I start doing now so that when I graduate in three years, I'll be all set? Please help.
Thanks,
T.

Re: Legal options.
You should qualify for 1 year of OPT after graduating from your bachelor-degree university. During that period, you'll want to find a H-1B sponsoring employer to hire you and file for your petition.
