Legal Question in Immigration Law in Connecticut
marriage
A friend of mine was married in 1969 at a Catholic Church. They took out the appropriate marriage license and the marriage was performed. Then they went to live abroad which was where they were born (they are not citizens). They now wish to emmigrate to the US but need a copy of their civil marriage license. It seems that the Catholic Church which was supposed to sign the license and send it to the city's Vital statistics Office never did so and so the state has no record of their marriage although the sacramental books of the Catholic Church in question contain such a record. What can be done to rectify this matter so my friends can get a copy of their civil marriage certificate?

Re: marriage
You can possibly obtain the records from the church and bring them to civil hall. You could then ask them the proper procedure for what you are trying to do. If you need help, you can email me at [email protected].
