Legal Question in Immigration Law in Connecticut
Hi, I came to US with a turist visa, when I was 17 y/o, I had studied since then, now I am 26 y/o and just graduated as a RN in CT. I continued my education with the IRS pin number, and I was able to get my RN license. However, the problem now is that I can't work due to my legal status. I am married to a legal resident who will become citizen on July 2011, but I would like to know if is there any way I can pursue my degree, now, and if any state's law has any options for my case

State laws do not regulate immigration matters. Under the U.S. federal law, if you came to USA legally on a visa, you might be able to apply for adjustment of status when your US citizen husband petitions for you (after his naturalization). If and when your application is approved, you will be granted a permanent resident status (green card) and will be able to work and study without limitations.
