Legal Question in Insurance Law in Connecticut
Passenger insurance
What are the repercussions of a driver who is in an accident with a passenger, but does not have insurnace for carrying passengers? I have heard that the driver could do jail time for this? Is this true?

Re: Passenger insurance
If you were operating an insured automobile, your passenger is covered. If you were an uninsured owner of a vehicle involved in an accident, you may have quasi criminal responsibility. I know of no such thing as passenger insurance for an automobile. Such insurance does exist for motorcycles.
