Legal Question in Employment Law in Connecticut

Forced Overtime.

I have a friend who works in a factory here in connecticut, anyway to get the point. They have a point system and if you get 8 points you are terminated. He has told me if he refuses to work overtime he gets charged a point. So in essence if he has 7 points and refuses to work anymore than 40 hours in a week can they terminate him? Is it lawful for him to receive a penalty for refusing overtime? He is not a salaried employee
