Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Connecticut
I have a friend renting a house with 3 other tenants. They all signed a month-to-month lease agreement. My friend wants to leave the house, while the other 3 tenants will remain. My friend plans to give the landlord and his roommates 30 days notice and pay the rent for the last month he resides there. Once he gives his 30 day notice and pays his last month of rent, does the remaining rent become full responsibility of the 3 other roommates? In other words, can he just pay his final month of rent and then leave the lease without any further rent payments?

I think it depends on what the lease says.
