Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Connecticut

I rent a place for my restaurant and the ac did not work. So I asked landlord to fix it, but he agreeded to pay half only. I accepted his offer, but other people said that he should pay the whole cost. But anyway couple months later, the ac started not working, so I called the mechanist guy to fix it, it costed 450, and the mechanist guy said the ac is too old. So I think landlord should pay the whole cost, but I decided to pay half and he paid half, but I refused and I feel like he try to take advandtage of my restaurant. My question should he be the one who responsible for this fixing cost?
