Legal Question in Traffic Law in Connecticut
Still driving with a suspended license.
My friend had his license suspended since 1991 due to DUI. He continues to drive on the suspended license and gets caught often enough to keep it suspended. He was arrested one night last week for failure to stop and driving on a suspended license. He got out on promise to appear. Within 6 hours of going home he was driving again and got stopped for not wearing a seat belt and of course they found out about the license suspension. He did not get arrested the second time. Reading Sec 14-215 of Ct. State law looks like he could go to jail for a year. Can he expect to do Jail time? How much?

Re: Still driving with a suspended license.
He can expect to do jail time for being so stupid. The CT laws have become more severe, especially for people who are driving while under suspension for DWI. The first charge is thirty days, mandatory, unless the Court finds unusal circumstances to excuse it. He should get an attorney. Tom Noonan
