Legal Question in Family Law in District of Columbia

Birth Certicate

Hi, I'm currently a Marland Resident, but was born in Washington, D.C.. When I was born on June 18th, 1959, my mother did not put my name on ther berth certificate because she was not legally divorced yet from her ex-husband. She legally divorced in 1961, but never had my name put on the birth Certificate. She never married my father for the seven years they lived together in D.C.. How can I get my name put back on my birth certificate. The bereau of Vital Records said that I would need a court order to allow my name to be put back on my birth certificate.

Please advise, thanks

Re: Birth Certicate

Are you saying that you do not have a name? There must be a name on your birth certificate. By their very nature, birth certificates record the birth of someone. You are basically saying that you don't have a name.
