If you have an employer that has over 50 employees and you have worked full time for them over a certain number of hours for the past year, then you are entitled to FMLA which gives you 12 weeks of unpaid leave during which time they need to keep you job open for you. You can use short term disability if you have it to pay you while you are out. Also, if it was an on the job injury you may wish to make a workers compensation claim.
