Legal Question in Disability Law in Florida
handicapped parking
I have a permanent disability with no cartiledge in either knee, and have a permanent disability parking placard on my car. I am a nurse and work in a large hospital area. They have said that the handicapped parking places behind my building where my office is are for ''handicapped visitors'' only, and the parking garage for employees has parking only on the 4th and 5th floor, and there are no handicapped spaces for employees. I am a nurse and have worked for this hospital for many years. Do I have any recourse? Our hospital system in central Florida employees approx 4000 people, and has about 6 or 7 different campuses. My disability is that I can walk only short distances without stopping. Thank you for your time.

You may. If you like give my office a call.
Re: handicapped parking
Speak to your HR department and make a formal request for an accomodation in writing. IF they dont help you out you might want to call my office. We handle many of these types of claims.
