Legal Question in Bankruptcy in Florida

Personal Property Exemption

I am being sued by a leasing company whom I signed a personal note with from a now defunct business. I recently moved in with my fiance to HER house. I own a townhouse in my name soley. Her House is in her name soley. The trial has not yet begun, me and my fiance are getting married next week. If i quitclaim over my townhouse to her is the property still vunerable?

Re: Personal Property Exemption

Probably. The conveyance, without consideration, may be deemed a fraudulent conveyance, and if so be set aside. If you resided in YOUR townhouse as your and your fiance's permanent place of abode, then it would be your homestead and be beyond the reach of the creditor. I urge you to consult with competent counsel for more detailed advice.
