Legal Question in Business Law in Florida
A 2 yr. old bill, just received
This telephone bill was for my incorporated business, which I no longer have. Due to the service not working, I got out of the contract and they now want me to pay for the remaining time, over $1700.

Unless you signed a personal guaranty then if the corporation has no assets you don't have to worry about it. You should not pay from your own pocket unless you signed a personal guaranty. Please call me if you would like a consult.

A 2 year old bill is still enforceable. If you signed for the service personally or guaranteed it, then you are responsible for the bill. How did you get out of the contract? Unless you got a release, the obligation remains. You cannot cancel it unilaterally.
