Legal Question in Business Law in Florida
Agreement still valid after death of one of the parties?
I am self-employed, based in NY. A recruiter based in Florida got me a contract with a client. I signed an [open-ended] agreement with the recruiter stipulating that I would give him a portion of the money I get from the client. The recruiter does business as an individual (no corporation or anything) using his SSN for tax purposes. The recruiter just died. Does his death nullify our agreement? Or does it get ''transferred'' to his estate?
Thanks,
Al

His estate acquires all of the rights of the decedent, including the right to receive the share of income from you.
