Legal Question in Business Law in Florida
Breach of Contract
I am selling a business . We have a contract with a Century21 broker that says he must not discuss finanical details with a buyer until money is put into escrow .
Not only has he discussed very detailed info... we feel he has tried to negotiate a buying price without including us , the sellers .
When the broker asked for more financial info , we refused until a confidentuality was signed and money was put into escrow by the buyer . The broker asked why we didn't trust him and faxed over a confidentuality agreement that didn't have our names on it . When we pointed that out , he said he would sent the correct one but never has and its been several days. He first valued the company at$400k (10 months ago) and now says we should sell for $200k .
Does all this sound odd ??
Thanks

Re: Breach of Contract
I think you should get a different broker before damage is done. As for the info this broker has, you can have an attorney send him a warning letter not to disclose the information or you will sue him.
