Legal Question in Business Law in Florida
Compete/No Compete
I am the general manager of a small vehicle rental company. One year ago one of the owners passed away and the other owner and the widow took over operations of the business. Five months go by and I receive a hefty pay cut which upsets me into starting my own vehicle rental company. I currently still work for the original company where I am the GM and also run my company on the side, being morally respectful of my situation. Can I get into any legal trouble for this, there is no non-compete in place. However we are getting to the point to where they are going down hill and I am going up hill and they are starting to make me look bad to current and future investors in my industry.
