Legal Question in Civil Rights Law in Florida
My 27 year old son was recently arrested for disorderly conduct. He is what I call undiagnosed bipolar. I don't know whether to hope that he is court ordered to get help -OR- fear that it could ruin his future by public record. Recently he has been very irrational, now he is just dilutional. Your thoughts please.

Disorderly Conduct is about the most minor criminal offense available in Florida. Many times people are arrested for it simply because of bad behavior and the police officer's desire to get them off the streets. If the State does press charges in most cases he would end up with a minor sentence like time-served or a fine. Court ordered counseling is unlikely on this type of offense. The arrest will show on his record unless it is sealed/expunged (which depends on the outcome of the charge).
