Legal Question in Consumer Law in Florida
do I have to give a refund? (FL)
I am a certified dog trainer, although I only teach classes occasionally. I limit the class to 6 dogs so that everyone gets individual attention. I explained to everyone that expressed interest that I required payment in full to reserve their spot in the class, as I have more people interested than spots. After a client paid me she requested a refund as she changed her mind. I told her I would apply her money to private training. She then changed her mind and said she just wants a refund, no training. I told her that as the series is 1/3 over I can't fill her spot, and therefore can't refund her money. She says that since I have no contract stating no refunds I have to refund her. Do I?

No. You had a oral contract and you should be able to keep the payment.
