Legal Question in Consumer Law in Florida

Hello,

My wife broke down in front of our local police station and a gentlemen helped move the car into the police station to move the car out of the road. The next day I received a call asking about the car from the police station and I adviced them that the car had broken down and our mechanic was coming to assist with getting it moved. I found out later that day that our mechanic was not able to make it but would be coming the following day. We found a note stating the car needed to be removed within 24hrs of the time that the note was posted or it would be towed. Understanding this we were ensuring that the car would be moved by 8:36pm that day as the note was posted at 8:36pm the night before. When we arrived to move the car we found that the captain at the police station had the car towed five hours earlier. I would like to know is there anything that can be done to have the Police reverse the towing fees so that we can get our car back.

No -- you were fortunate that they allowed it to stay as long as they did. You can't just leave your car on someone's property.
