Legal Question in Consumer Law in Florida
Loaned money to a friend and she hasnt paid it back what do I do?
In may of 1999 I loaned my former roommate and friend of 18 years, $600.00 for her to get her car from a title company who had her car. She had to come up with the 600 dollars in order to get it back. A verbal agreement was made that she would pay me twenty dollars every week until the loan was paid off. I had my present roommate and her roommate in the same room as I wrote the check out and as the agreement was being made. We all heard that she would agree to pay me this money.
Now it is may 14,2001 and I have only received $180.00 from her and they have been paid by money orders. I have addressed this issue with her several times and she ignores me and I want my money paid back like she said she would do. What can i do about this? If I can take her to small claims court could I ask her to pay the court cost on top of what she owes me? thank you holly
